On
behalf of St. Michael’s Parish I welcome you to our website.
It gives me great pleasure to know that we are answering the
invitation of Jesus to “Go out to all the world and proclaim the
Good News (Mk 16:16).” In the early Church, the
message of Jesus was proclaimed by word of mouth and the
movement of feet. In this century, new ways of
communicating have been opened to us. We must use every method
to bring the Good News to the world.
At
Christmas we celebrate the Good News story of Jesus being born
in Bethlehem and God becoming human. He experienced everything
that you and I experience. The Christmas
story remains just a story unless we remember
that
it includes Christ’s death on Good Friday and resurrection on
Easter Sunday. Unless we put the whole story together, we
miss the point of Christmas. This is called the Pascal Mystery
and each Sunday, year in and year out, we celebrate this mystery
as we gather together for the Eucharist.
Our Parish Vision
Statement is to be a welcoming
Eucharistic community, sharing faith and reaching out to all.
We invite you to
gather
with us for Eucharist on Sundays. St. Michael’s is an active
parish where you will experience many opportunities to grow in
your faith and minister to others. Please browse through the
website where you will find our new newsletter and the Sunday
bulletin. We hope that you enjoy the website and visit us
regularly online.
